Here’s a bit more information about me and Not Merely Living:
Give me two truths and 1 lie about yourself.
1. All three of my brothers were born on March 1st.
2. I have a 3rd degree black belt in Taekwondo.
3. I’m an accomplished violinist.
Can you guess which one is the lie?

When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
An actress, a writer, or an FBI agent/ninja. Now in another life I think I would have really enjoyed being the entertainment director on a cruise.
What do you do for a living?
I work full-time in development for a large anti-hunger non-profit organization in San Francisco. Even though I don’t write too much about it on the blog, I absolutely love my job. I am very grateful that I get the chance to do what I love for an organization that I truly believe in.
About the Site
Where do you get all the pictures you feature on the blog?
The vast majority of photos featured on Not Merely Living are my own personal pictures taken on my phone or camera. I haven’t ever taken any formal photography training (except for Photo 101 from Nicole’s Classes), but I really like to take pictures.
What do you use to create graphics on your blog?
I work almost exclusively in Photoshop Elements 11 to create all of my graphics. I’m a complete novice, but I’ve taught myself almost everything I need to know to get by.
Can I post your pictures or graphics on my site?
You are welcome to use my photographs, but please list Not Merely Living and myself (Meredith Nguyen) as the source. This also goes for any graphics.
Any time I post any photos or images on the blog that were not taken/created by me, I do my best to cite back to the original source and photographer. If you notice that I have cited an incorrect source, please let me know so that I can update the source immediately.
Can I pin your photos on Pinterest?
Yes, please do! You can also follow me on Pinterest. I’m @NotMerelyLiving.
Can I post your recipe or DIY project on my site?
Yes, but only if you post one photo of the final product with a link to the original post here on Not Merely Living.
What camera do you use?
Who designed your site?
The amazing and extremely talented Elembee designed and developed my site. I highly recommend Lisa if you’re looking to redesign your site or if you need someone to help you start from scratch.
Before Lisa worked her magic, I used to design my own site. If you’re a Typepad user, and you’re interested in learning how to do your own custom design, I recommend taking Elise Blaha‘s Web Design for bloggers class.
How do you draw on your photos?
I use this Wacom tablet. It take a little bit of time to get used to, but once you get the hang of it, it’s awesome!
Will you do a giveaway of my product?
Maybe! Send me an email to see if your product would be a good fit for my site.
Thanks so much for reading Not Merely Living!
