well folks. the past few weeks have been doozies.
Our cat has somehow gone mad. She's turned on me and been attacking me.
During one of these episodes, I slipped and fell and sprained my ankle.
yes, I do wish I was kidding.
So i'm living with the enemy. and can't get around really well to escape her now!
a lot has been going on that I want to tell you about. I've had some major adventures over the past few weeks that I want to highlight for you:
This is an amazing annual fundraiser that is put on every year by the Women's Board to benefit the Oakland Museum. There were millions of people there.
There were some real finds, but you had to do a bit of digging to get to them.
The sale is really neat because it is organized by object type. For example, there is a furniture section, a book section, ,clothing section, etc.
I found some great sewing patterns, some great glassware and a brand new spice rack!
all those patterns for only $1!
The following day was a really amazing Girls Day Out. We went to brunch and then to the Little Mermaid Sing along at the Castro Theater.
We ate at one of my favorite brunch spots in the city: 2223. It is such a great place and usually not very crowded. The food is phenomenal. They have amazing corn beefed hash. 🙂 :
and then we got our sing on:
We had an absolute blast. Can't wait for the next sing along at the Castro Theater! Wizard of Oz!!
Last weekend, Bridget and I went to the Alameda County Flea Market. They have it the first weekend of every month, and it's outdoor and filled with amazing finds. I was extremely proud because I found an original Enid Collins bag! I was soooo proud I called my mom immediately! There were many other imitation bags, so I was especially proud to find an authentic one. Many of you know that my mom and I run a small etsy shop with vintage items, called Hanson Vintage (shameless plug). We have sold many Enid Collins bags on the site. Check out the awesome Enid Collins bag I found:
all the beads are in tact!! What a find.
I'm so ready for Viet to come back. He sent me very beautiful flowers on St. Patrick's Day:
Yesterday I hosted a wedding shower for our two great friends, Will and Bridget. They are such joyful and fun (and funny) couple. Their happiness is truly contagious. We set the date for the shower before we knew that Viet had to go to India. It was a little more complicated than I had planned to getting ready for it because of my ankle. But luckily I had the help of Shap and Lisa, who are complete life savers.
All in all, I think everybody had a good time 🙂
Check out the felt garlands– my new favorite decoration to make (got the idea from Elise Joy's blog). You just cut out the felt circles and sew them together in one long line.
These were taken just now, because I forgot to take any good pictures of the decorations yesterday. 🙂
Congratulations Bridget & Will!!!! We love you and can't wait for you to get Hella Married!!!
To finish up this longest blog post ever, let me leave you with some Kute Kai Pics!!!
man i miss that sweet smile! Can't wait to see you in two weeks Kai!! Happy six-month birthday!
