Well I am a ninja. and so is Viet. On to less serious wedding topics:
WE NEED THIS from super cute etsy seller theaircastle:
I mean I don't even know if we'll have a cake, but regardless, we must have these guys.
Speaking of Wedding Cakes, this is the deal. I like them, but here's the key to wedding cakes:
they have to taste as good as the look. Sounds obvious right? but it seems to be tricky.
and they are mega $$, especially given the number of slices we'll need.
The first time Viet and I ever spoke about wedding cake he said something like, "wedding cake is dumb." And that was that. I like cake, and it feels weddingly, but I wouldn't be heartbroken if we chose a different dessert.
Since then Viet has declared that he must have a Grooms Cake!! Haven't heard of these? It's a Southern tradition. The groom gets a separate smaller cake that is creatively shaped like one of his favorite things. These can get really creative from a favorite team's mascot to a video game consul, really anything you can imagine. I love that this is the Southern Wedding tradition that Viet cares about.
But then I told him, "honey, you do realize that we can't just have a Grooms cake. You can't be the only person at the wedding eating cake." and he gave me that look that says why not? and that was the end of that convo.
I'm not sure where we'll end up in the cake debate, but I hope it involves clay ninja toppers.
