On the fourth of July we decided to celebrate America's birth by zip-lining 200 feet above the ground between Redwood trees.
If you live anywhere in Northern California, I highly recommend you check out Redwood Canopy Tours. Our guides were nice, informative, and supportive. Although I was pretty terrified throughout, it was a blast. I'd never been zip-lining before, so boy did I get an adrenaline rush. They usually take up groups of 8 at a time, but somehow we lucked out because there were only the four of us: Viet, me, Viet's cousin Phong, and Phong's wife Alice (our wedding planner!).
Check us out:
First we had to get all suited up and practice on the baby line. Then we were ready to really zip.
See that tiny dot out there. . . I think that's me. ha. scary.
After we zipped through the Redwoods, we had to rappel down a very large tree to get back to solid ground.
See that face: I was not. messing. around.
Here comes Viet!
An excellent (albeit a bit atypical) way to celebrate the 4th of July. Hope yours was just as fun and joyful.
