I know it has been a long time since I wrote about wedding dress shopping.
If you've been following the blog for a while, you know I have tried on a lottttt of dresses.
and then on a rainy day over Labor Day weekend, my mom and I googled dress salons near us in Alabama. After calling several that were closed, we called Bliss Bridal. They were packed with appointments, but they somehow squeezed us in. We made our way to the salon in the pouring rain. When we walked in the door I instantly recognized the owner Katie, and she me. But we couldn't place where for a few minutes. We tried a few poor guesses, and then it hit us: We had waitressed together at O'Charleys in Foley, Alabama one summer during college! What are the odds!
Anyways, Katie was lovely, and with her help and a bit of bubbly, I tried on a few dresses and then voila! I tried her on. I took her off. I tried her on. I took her off. and then
I tried her on again. and IIIII swirled around a bit, and I liked her. like a lot. and I wanted to keep wearing her. and my mom totally loved her.
and that was it. I just had a great feeling. The dress was too big in some places and slightly too small in others, but I just had a great feeling. It felt like-me.
I didn't cry (even though I assumed I would since I cry at the drop of a hat), but I felt peaceful. and that was that.
I apologize because I've told you this whole long story, and now I'm going to show you the dress (but just not meee in the dress). 🙂
Here she is (and yes apparently I have become one of those brides who personifies her dress). Imagine her without the flower things on the top and with a emerald green sash around the waist:
She's got a lovely key-hole back, and I can't. wait. to get marrrrrieeeeddd!
that's all. getting (a lil) excited. nearing the 6 months mark!
