On Saturday, I got to spend some quality time at one of my favorite places–Teahouse Studio:
Rachel helps you to tap into something that you've been carrying inside you, to face it, and to move towards it in a loving and earnest way. The workshop is all about identifying your primary hunger in life.
and not necessarily this kind of hunger:
Rachel brought us some yummy treats from her sweetheart's bakery! So Delicous. Thank you Starter Bakery.
When we arrived we all took some time to write our hungers on post-its and stick them all over the walls:
Aren't we all hungering for this:
I learned several powerful things at this workshop that really checked me deep down to my soul:
My hunger is about the life I want for myself, and I need to face it, to see it, and to begin to be in a relationship with it. That means that sometimes it won't always feel great, but as long as I am seeing it honestly and slowly working towards it-that's what matters. Facing it is what will help me to slowly grow towards it.
I didn't expect to get emotional in the class, but I definitely did. It is a really, really scary and intimately personal thing to face your deepest, brightest dreams for yourself and remind yourself that you deserve them.
In the class I told this story about overhearing a guy on the airplane describe that feeling that you get in the pit of your stomach when you think about that thing in life that you really, really want: that it feels like fear, this deep fear down in your stomach that is weighing you down. But really, he said, that fear is excitement. But it's both, right? and it's good to think about it that way. Fear and excitement are so closely tied together with your deepest, brightest dreams.
And then also I was reminded that I need to be tender with myself. I hear that. Aren't we sometimes our own harshest critics?
The workshop was Amazing.
