On the day before the wedding, I woke up to the sun streaming in through my window. I knew it was going to be a glorious day.
I'm going to do my best to tell you candidly what the wedding weekend was like. . . what I was thinking/feeling. But I'm mostly just going to show you pictures because it's hard to put in to words (even if you like writing as I do) because it's this experience that is fast and big and magical. So that's all just a preface to say, I will do my best. :) Also, let me apologize for the lack of awesome pictures on this recap journey so far. Apparently right before my wedding, the last thing I was thinking about was documenting! I promise the pictures will get better in the next post (once someone professional is involved!).
When I woke up on Friday morning I was surrounded by friends. Three of my bridesmaids and my friend Kristin from Canada all stayed with me at my place on Thursday night. We got up early and loaded lots and lots of alcohol into the car along with some extra wedding supplies that we had to drop off at the venue on the way to the picnic.
As we drove towards our Chrissy Field park site, the bridge seemed like it was smiling at me. My joy was overflowing:
We set up our pop up tents and treats, and we were ready to go!
It was perfect. :) We got the food catered from Mission Bay Foods, the company that owns Dos Pinas in San Francisco. It was delicious. We eat at Dos Pinas all the time because it's close to work, but they seriously out-did themselves. I highly recommend them for any catering event in the city. They are also very reasonably priced for scale.
It was a wonderful afternoon. Our friends and families mingled and enjoyed the sunshine.
At 3pm the family and the wedding party headed over the Old St. Mary's Church for our rehearsal. I literally bawledddd the whole way through the rehearsal. But we made it through it (with a little concern for my makeup the next day), and then we headed off to our rehearsal dinner in Napa!
Next Up: our families meet at our Magical Rehearsal Dinner!
