Recently I signed up for Amazon's Audible to listen to more books on tape. I love reading, but I never seem to be able to make enough time for it anymore. With books on tape, I can listen to books during the stolen moments of my day: getting reading in the morning, on my commute, washing dishes, or even while I make dinner.
I read in all sorts of forms. I have a kindle and even read on my iphone sometimes if I'm stuck somewhere without a book, but I still prefer a good book in my hands on a sunny day with the window open and the breeze blowing.
But unfortunately those moments are few and far between no matter how much I wish for them. And as much as I prefer a nice heavy book in my hands, I'm willing to give that up for more convenient ways of experiencing the story. There are definite downsides to audiobooks sometimes. If I don't the person reading the book it can be a killer. I also miss seeing the text. I'm a pretty visual person, so sometimes I love the feeling of reading and rereading a great sentence or paragraph. That experience is just not the same when you're listening to a book.
Nevertheless, I think for my current hectic life, audio books are the best way for me to get the stories. :) I'm constantly looking for new great books. I've been using the site Goodreads a lot, and I find it super helpful. You can link up with your friends and see what they're reading and how they rank the books they're reading. I highly recommend it.
Here are the books I've got on the top of my list right now.
What's the best book you've read lately? What's your preferred reading style?
