It's been a pensive week for me. I've been doing lots of pondering, dreaming and brow scrunching.
As many of you know I've been working pretty hard on this little blog lately. . . using this space as an outlet for my thoughts, inspirations and dreams.
and sometimes it's scary. putting myself out here for you to read. but I love it.
At the beginning of this week my friend forwarded me this link to a post on Helenjane.com and said that she thought I would want to read it. Here's the kicker:
She says that blogging stopped being as fun when Blogs became a less of a reflection of a way things are and more a reflection of what people want. I agree with her, and I get it. But I also struggled a bit with what she was saying.
I do want my blog to be a reflection of the way things are in my life. I want it to reflect me and how I live and what I believe in, but I also firmly believe that blogs can be about dreaming--about writing down your dreams and building towards them. I think that wanting isn't always bad, it doesn't always have to be shallow and hollow. Sometimes it can be a spark that changes your life. I get excited when I read my favorite blogs because they inspire me to live a fuller life--to cook more and dance more and sing more and sew more. And that feels good and real and ok.
So, I really love what helenjane said and where she was coming from, but I also hope I can do both here. I want to both reflect the way things are and dream of bigger things.
I was soooo happy for one of my favorite bloggers Elise Blaha when I heard the news that she is designing a beautiful new Project Life Kit!
holy mackerel. How did I not know that I LOVE GRANOLA. I mean it's not like I haven't eaten granola bars before. But I randomly picked up this granola at Whole Foods this week that had almonds and sunflower seeds and maple syrup, and I ate so much I gave myself a tummy ache (worth it).
I randomly stumbled upon this post about staring at interracial couples, and it made me smile. Thank you Stephanie.
I love Roald Dahl. This is my favorite pin of the week.

I started reading The Night Circus this week, and it is SO GOOD ya'll. If you haven't read it and you like magic, get on it.
My friend Renske is doing an IRONMAN this weekend in Canada, and I AM SO frickin proud of her and so grateful for her friendship. GO Renske GO! We'll be cheering you on from here.
Have a great weekend!
