Welcome to the newly redesigned Not Merely Living! Today I am 29 years old. Since it is the 29th day of the month, it just happens to be my Golden Birthday. To celebrate this magic awesomeness, I have redesigned the blog. I've still got a few more tweaks to make, but it is pretty much done. What do you think?!
In honor of my Golden year, starting this Thursday, November 1st, there will a whole new Golden Year series on the blog. Each month I will be featuring new adventures, goals, and monthly themes. I hope you will follow along. Check back on Thursday for all the Golden November details.
Goodbye 28. You were very, very good to me. I will always remember that when I was 28:
+ I married my better half, and it was an absolutely perfect day.
+ We went on an incredible honeymoon.
+ I had an incredible bachelorette party in vegas with my ladies.
+ I met a bunch of really awesome bloggers at Alt summit.
+ My sweet nephew Jori was born.
+ I got new responsibility at work, and I really loved my job.
+ My birthday twin Tiffany got married, and I got to stand beside her.
+ the Giants won their 2nd World Series since I've lived in SF just a few hours before my birthday
28 was filled with laughter and fun, but it also had it's moments of sorrow. I did my darndest to be a responsible, contributing adult while simulatenously enjoying life as innocently and purely as possible.
and so with that, all I have to say is:
Hello 29. I know this Golden last year of my decade is going to be epic, because I'm going to make sure of it.
Before I turn the big 3-0, I hope that I
+ learn at least 30 new things (at the top of the list: quilt-making, guitar playing, conversational vietnamese)
+ go to at least 3 new places.
+ challenge myself to do the big, scary things I'm keeping locked away because I'm too afraid to say them out loud.
+ have a clear vision of where I would like to by the time I'm 40.
+ take myself a little less seriously and give myself a little more slack when needed/or a little more courage when I'm too afraid to fight
+ am just as happy as I am right now.
XO,
