Yay!!!!!! The Month I have been waiting for is HERE!! I am so excited for October you guys. This month I'm setting my sails towards Awesomeness.
October is going to be magical. I just know it! I love October because:
+It's the kick-off to the holidays!
+It's the beginning of the year's sunset. :)
+It's when the air changes (to fall for most people, but here in SF it's late summer!)
+It's my birthday month.
This year is an extra special birthday for me. It's my Golden Birthday. I heard the term Golden Birthday for the first time this year, and I was stunned that I did not know such a thing existed. Your Golden Birthday is the birthday when your age is the same as the day you were born. So if you were born on the 3rd of any month, then your Golden Birthday would be the year you turned three. There isn't much information I can find about where this concept comes from. And it seems like most people don't get the chance to really celebrate their Golden Birthday, because it comes and goes before they realize it. But for me, it is different.
Since I found out about it right before my Golden Birthday, I figure it must be magical, right?! At least for me?! I am turning 29 years old on the 29th of October. So I've decided this whole ding dang year is going to be Golden. Because why not right?!
29 markes the last year of the decade for me, and I am not going to let it go by lightly! Golden Year, Here I come. I'm taking this Golden Year as a chance to Carpe Diem. And I want to encourage you to join me. What would make your life a little more sparkly? What big dreams or small dreams have you been hiding away in your heart's pocket? It's time to bring them out and dust em off. :)
In honor of my Golden Year, the blog is getting a whole new look, and I'm going to be writing several new columns. It will all be up and running on Monday, October 29th, which will officially be my New Year!
I know you might be thinking, but Meredith, it's just another October for me! To that I say, it doesn't have to be!
I've only got one goal for this month. I'm going to keep it short, sweet and to the point:
In October, I'm committing to get myself ready to be Golden! That means I'm going to be creating and drawing and writing and getting all my ideas and dreams out, so I can start my new golden year out purposefully. It's October, a month of warm and fuzziness, so I say let's snuggle in. As the sun begins to set on 2012 (just three more months!), I think it's the perfect time to plan for the holidays, for knocking the rest of this year out of the park, and for planning for 2013! January 1st is not going to sneak up on me this year. I'm going to be ready! Care to join me? Let's be Golden together.
