You were the perfect city to kick off my Golden Year travel. As I mentioned last week, we adored Austin. I took a lot of pictures, so I'm going to break the recaps into parts. To start here's a review of the all the tasty treats we experienced in Austin.
I was so happy with every meal we ate in Austin. We had more like 4 meals a day each day we were there. I think I definitely packed in a few extra lbs, but boy was it worth it!
If you find yourself in Austin any time soon, I highly recommend each of these spots.
Brunch at Lambert's:
I had a delicious grapefruit cocktail, brisket hash (!), and a delicious
chocolate pot de creme with butterscotch.
Breakfast Tacos and Queso dip at Torchy's Tacos
Mighty Cones! Picture this: a paper cone with slaw, fried chicken, fried avocado, and magic sauce. Y'all. Fried Avocado!!
dinner at House Pizzeria. Yum
Gourdough's Donuts. These are really more of a dessert item.
Craft Cocktails at Peche. On our last night in town we stopped by this beautiful bar for a drink before dinner. They have delicious cocktails.
We had our last meal at La Condesa. If you are looking for some high calibur Mexican food. This is your place. Unfortunately, the lighting wasn't really conducive to photos (very romantic), but trust me: add this place to your list! I had the braised short ribs. so good.
I'm hoping we can make this trip an annual deal. I miss the queso dip already!
