Last year, I participated in some of Reverb11, written and coordinated by Carolyn Rubenstein and my good friend Tiffany (Moore) Han. The idea of Reverb is to walk you through daily prompts throughout the month of December that help you to reflect on the 2012 and prepare for 2013.
I’m not posting daily, but I do want to use a few of the reverb prompts to reflect over the course of the month. The first prompt carried me through 2012, so I definitely want to start with it!
1. One Word:
Encapsulate the year 2012 in one word. Explain why you’re choosing that word. Now, imagine it’s one year from today, what would you like the word to be that captures 2013 for you?
(Author: Gwen Bell)
Commit was the word I chose for myself in 2012, and I think it really represents how I lived my life this year.
+ I committed to this man, to have and to hold.
I think I’m drawn to this word because it’s magical. It’s sunshine and warmth. It’s lazy days and long walks. It’s twinkling lights and candle flames. It’s my wedding ring and my mothers earrings. It’s the possibility that comes with each new sunrise and the peace (or the promise of peace) that comes with each sunset. It’s adventure. It’s that feeling you get when everything is just going right. That’s Golden. That’s what I want for 2013.
