I LOVE sesame balls. Every time we go to any of Viet’s family gathering, I hope/wish/holdmybreath that there are sesame balls. I could eat my weight in these.
Now, let me do a little truth talking with you guys. These things are not easy to make, but they are so worth it. By the time I finished I had rice flour on the window, my sunglasses in the other room, and my cat.
Here are a few of the things I did differently than the recipe.
1. I’m lazy. So instead of buying the raw mung beans and soaking them overnight, I bought them in a jar at my local market (don’t judge me).
3. I had to add WAY more water during the final working the dough step than the recipe suggested. I felt like I Love Lucy. Like the crazy woman who says F the recipe, and just starts dumping water in (when it only called for 1/4 cup) in the bowl until it explodes. that was me.
But guess what,
For real though, just keep adding water until you get the dough to a nice play-dough like consistency.
Check back this afternoon for some thoughts on my time at Alt.
