Hope your New Years Eve was perfect. Viet and I spent last night snuggled up with our cat watching movies, eating stew, and fighting off fevers. Viet seems to have caught the bug too now :(.
But at least we were together. 🙂
Before I rush feet first into January, here’s a quick recap of my Golden December:
If you’re visiting for the first time, in October I turned 29 on the 29th. I’m celebrating a Golden Year of awesomeness in honor of my Golden Birthday. Each month I’m committing to live each month purposefully and to choose to learn and experience new things in all the areas of my life that I enjoy (such as cooking, reading, traveling, crafting–you know. . . all the fun stuff). Here’s an overview of my December:
I had my eyes on these sparklers for NYE, and these were my favorite sparkling finds of the month:
1. Severine Sequin Loop (swoon) | 2. Precious Cluster Barrette | 3. Glitter School Folder (on sale!) | 4. Glitter Iphone case | 5. Sequin Tank | 6. DKNY Sparkle Strap watch | 7. Faceted Infinity Pouch | 8. Glitter Skinny Belt | 9. Metallic Sequin Waves Pillow | 10. Glitter Filled Candles |
I’ve been very reflective this month. I’ve thought a lot about why I’m writing and what I want out of 2013. I also spent a lot of time reflecting on where I want the blog to go and coming up with new ideas for how to get there. I’ll share more very soon!
I had such a fun time putting together my holiday playlists this year. Creating these playlists continues to be one of my favorite parts of my Golden Year so far.
I’m not quite finished yet, but I’m finally in book 3. It won’t be long now! I’m still loving the book so far. I also put together a book list, which I’m excited to share with you guys. I’m trying to put together an exhaustive list of all the books that I either a) have read and think everyone should read or b) want to read. Look for that in the next week or so.
Oh did I make some cookies this month! These were all delicious. I made several types of cookies for prom:
Including Mexican Wedding Cookies, Sugar Cookies, and Pecan bark.
This is the easiest, yummiest no bake cookie recipe ever.
And last but not least, the peanut butter and m&m cookies! So Good!
While we were there I took the opportunity to show Viet around and make sure he (and I) had the chance to eat all of my favorite Birmingham foods.
We visited the Iconic Vulcan.
We ate at the classic Sabor Latino. I, of course, had to have some queso dip! love that stuff.
and I convinced my family to order Davenport’s Pizza. It’s my absolute favorite pizza in the world:
It was an awesome month for diyphotoaday. I took lots of great pictures (some of which you can see sprinkled above or over to the right). You can check out all my Dcember pictures by following me on instagram: notmerelyliving.
And what about my guitar lessons? Well, we talked a lot about them and planned a lot for them, but we just never got around to them. This is still something that I am definitely set on doing. It seems like each month at least one of the areas escapes my grasp, and this month the guitar lessons were just a bit over-ambitious.
Hopefully, I’ll be feeling well enough tomorrow to post my plan for Golden January. Send some healing thoughts my way.
