Happy Friday, Everyone!
I can’t believe June is here, but I also have to admit that I’m not really sad to see May go. May was crazy-pants around here. Work, Travel, Work, Travel, repeat, craziness. I’m ready for a change of pace, and I think June is just what I need. Somehow, through all the madness, I was able to focus on most of my Golden Month Goals. I have a feeling they helped me keep sane this month. Joyful inspiration always help me stay positive through the stress!
Here’s looking at you, May:
*Be // Caretaking:
I spent a significant portion of the month trying to focus on taking care of myself in the midst of the crazy that was my life. I focused on taking care of my skin, eating healthy (all those salads helped), and just giving myself time to reflect (cross country travel provided plenty of time for this).
*Read // Middlesex:
I think I may be the last person on the planet to read this. But on the off chance you haven’t read it yet, go get it now. What a moving, emotional, cross-generational tale. I loved the writing-couldn’t get enough of his style and voice and powerful emotion. ++++ recommendation
*Craft // Flowers:
My tissue paper poms (flowers) were a huge success for our Cuatro de Mayo party. These are so fun and easy to make. I highly recommend them as the perfect fast go-to party decor.
*Eat // Salad:
*Travel // Seaside:
I traveled to the breathtaking Seaside, Florida for my friend Marianne’s wedding. It was everything you would imagine the perfect beachside wedding could be. Seaside is so quaint. It’s tucked right on the Florida coast near Destin, and it’s the perfect family beach town. I would love to go back and rent a house with family or friends.
*Aurora // French:
Lisa and I have been getting our Frienish on. We haven’t been able to practice every day, but I already feel great about the phrases I’ve learned so far. I’m going to try to keep learning a phrase a day until we leave for France.
*Capture // #fmsphotoaday:
I’ve been hanging in there with photo a day. I recommitted myself this month, and I did ah-ight. But I wasn’t quite able to take a photo every single day. I also forgot until the month had started that I had signed up for Photography 101, an online class from Nicole’s classes, so I got to do a lot of “capture” thinking this month while I’ve been practicing my manual skills. I’m looking forward to getting in some more real-life practice.
*Knit // #knittingclub
I made my hat this month (yay!), but I didn’t realize until I finished that I missed a critical step in the pattern. Soooooo, I need to redo this one, but it should only take me a few hours to fix. Here’s a shot of the not so perfect result:
How was your May? Are you sad to see it go or ready for June?
I’m ready for a nice relaxing weekend in the sunshine celebrating maaaeeewwwaaaahhhggg (also known as marriage and our first wedding anniversary) with my love.
Happy Almost June & Happy Weekend!
