Today is the day, and I am dreading it. I’m officially starting my 30 days of fitness from my 30 before 30 list. I’ve put it off as long as I possibly can, and now I have to actually start doing the work.
Fitness is tricky. I do enjoy the way I feel when I’m working out regularly, but what a mammoth obstacle (also known as my laziness) I have to overcome to get my routine started! Nevertheless, here I am. At the first step. For the past three days, I’ve been trying to get myself ready by doing the following basic strength training:
- 25 squats
- 25 crunches
- 10 push ups
- 25 jumping jacks
- and 25 of that thing where you’re laying on your back and raising up your hips like Jane Fonda. I did 25 of those, too.
And I’m already sore. #greatstart
Over the next 30 days, I’m going to be mixing up my different exercise routines to see what I enjoy the most.
I’m planning to do a bit of rock climbing, a bit of yoga, a bit of jogging (if I can stand it), and a lot of Jillian. I haven’t planned out which day I’ll do what, but I’m considering loosely calendaring it just to give myself some structure.
I need daily exercise to be a part of my everyday routine, and I know that I am the only one who can make it happen. I’ll be posting workout shots on Instagram with the hashtag #30daysfit to keep myself accountable. Please follow along and help me stay motivated!

I’m hoping I’m going to somehow trick myself into #365daysfit. One. Crunch. at at Time.
