Tiffany Han, my birthday twin (both Oct. 29th), friend of honor, sister from another mister, and today’s blog crush/life crush, was the first new friend I made when I moved to San Francisco. Tiffany has the way about her that is indescribable and impossible to turn away from. She just folds you into her smile and then you’re friends for life. She’s just pure magic, and you can’t help but love and trust her from the moment you meet her.
She’s truly one of the sparkling ones among us, and I’m so very lucky to call her one of my dearest, closest friends. In addition to just being an incredible friend, Tiffany is a truth-telling, all-inspiring life coach. If you’ve ever thought about hiring a creative/business/life coach (or if you haven’t!), you should really just stop what you’re doing and contact her. She’s a life changer. no joke. Read on to learn more about my beautiful friend:
*When did you start blogging and what inspired you to start blogging?
I started blogging in May 2008 (that seems like soo long ago!). I was getting really into reading blogs at the time, and I kept thinking, “I have something to say too.” So I started writing! Then, without even realizing it, my blog became a great platform for my coaching biz when I started it in 2011.
*What is your favorite aspect of writing your blog? What do you find the most challenging about blogging?
My favorite thing about writing is getting the spark of an idea and then being able to share it with the world! It’s always the best when someone reaches out to me after a post to say – “wow. I felt like you were talking directly to me.”
Most challenging: finding the time to blog consistently. Hands down.
*What are your favorite posts you’ve written recently that made you feel like Yes! that was awesome!?
When Things Don’t Sell – I wrote this post in the middle of a particularly difficult product launch, and while it was difficult to write, I was blown away by both the support I got from my readers and how many people wrote to tell me how grateful they were to know that they weren’t alone in their own business struggles. (This is another HUGE reason why I write – to let people know they aren’t alone in what they’re feeling.)
from FOMO to LOMO – So many of us suffer from a Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) that I was excited to reframe the way we look at how we spend our time (and what we’re really missing out on by letting the FOMO win!)
friday’s confession: I have a secret – This is the post where I announced that we’re expecting twins early next year (!!) so…yeah, pretty exciting!
*Where do you turn for inspiration?
The majority of my inspiration comes from real life – talking with friends, reading books, taking long walks. I think that there’s a pervasive thought that we have to be hyper-connected allthetime online to stay inspired, but I find that my actual inspiration comes from connecting with my real life.
*What is your favorite pair of shoes and why?
Currently: my platinum sperrys. Working from home means that I never get to wear my cutie heels and being preggo means that comfort is KING.
*What was the last great book you read?
One of my favorite recent reads was Life After Life by Kate Atkinson. It blew my mind!
*What current dream or goal are you working towards (big or small)?
Oh, so many! The biggest one right now is to keep growing my twins so that they come out super healthy and hearty! I’m also in the process of updating my website (coming soon!) and have a lot of great ideas for my business. I’m looking forward to the challenge of figuring out how to have a successful, thriving business while also being a mom – it’s completely uncharted territory for me!
*What’s your go-to meal?
*Do you have a personal motto? If so, lay it on us. If not, do you have a favorite quotation or inspirational piece of art?
Ooh, this is a good question! Earlier this summer, I took a writing workshop with Cheryl Strayed (who is such a writing hero of mine!) and she talked about “praying to the God of Doing it Anyway.” I use this one a lot when I’m feeling doubt or fear or insecurity about something I’m about to take on.
My other personal motto is “Why not me?” – so when I see someone doing something awesome, I think, if she can do that, why can’t I?
Also, “Everyone poops. Even Oprah.” This helps me not get too bogged down in putting other people on pedestals.
*Who are your top five blog crushes? Is there a blogger that would you love to meet in real life?
I feel really fortunate to have gotten to meet all my blog crushes in real life already!
Mere!! (Love you boo!)
