Oh January. You sure kicked 2014 off with a series of bangs. It has been a month filled with surprises–some difficult and some amazing– but overall I’m feeling pretty good about this year so far.
Let’s take a quick look back at what happened to me and Not Merely Living this month.

I set my one little word for 2014: Dare.
I made a hand lettered wall hanging from blank cards, washi tape, and baker’s twine to remind me of my 31 before 31 Goals.
Not Merely Husband blew me away with his delicious Fried Chicken Salad recipe.
My sweet little nephew Link was born, within a few days had open heart surgery, and has been slowly recovering ever since. I spent a week in Atlanta with my brother and his family helping out. I’m happy to report Link is going to be released to go home tomorrow!
On NML, I featured Diana Toledano as this month’s inspiring artist.
I kicked off my very first 52 Weeks Project with four amazing card games (5th one will be up tomorrow).
I experimented with my first strawberry banana smoothie recipe, and it turned out delicious.
I set goals for Alt Summit. . . went to Alt Summit. . .
I accomplished almost all five of my simple goals.
As January comes to a close, I’m feeling pretty good about month #1.
How was your January? Are you feeling as good about 2014 so far as I am?
