This weekend it rained almost non-stop in San Francisco. We love rain, and boy do we need it, so we just cozied up and enjoyed it for most of the weekend. We ventured out a few times for food, but other than that, we shut ourselves in and relaxed.
These are my favorite types of weekends. When we have the time to rest up and clean and just be together. I got some knitting time in and some crafting time in, and yesterday I even made this crazy homemade half chocolate chip half funfetti cake for the hubs birthday.
Oh, and I did so much laundry. #nguyening
We had a small dinner last night to celebrate Not Merely Husband’s birthday, and it felt nice to host folks in our place. It’s finally starting to feel like home after 3 months.
Viet and I are in a great groove right now. We’re constantly learning how to be better partners to one another, and some days we’re better at it than others. Lately, we’ve been kinder to each other and laughter has been filling the house. I’m grateful for the times when it is easy.
As I write this, everything in our apartment is clean and in its place. Since this is such a rare occasion, I’m celebrating that too. Right. Now. I’m not a constant clean-as-you-go kinda person, so it feels especially nice to start the week with a clean slate.
Happy Monday, friends.
