The 52 Card Games project is my first 52 Weeks project. I love card games, and I love learning new games and playing the games I love. For this project, I’m documenting a new card game each Friday. In case you’ve missed any of the eighteen games I’ve featured so far, check out all of the previous 52 CARD GAMES.
I always played this game with a special pack of Old Maid cards growing up. I had no idea you could play it with a standard deck! I love how fun and simple this game is.
Deal all the cards. Players may not have the same number of cards.
Play starts when players sets down any pairs they have in their hand. Play begins with the first player to the dealer’s left. This player presents his or her cards face down to the player to his or her left, and that player chooses one card blindly. If the new card can combine with a card already in their hand to make a pair, the player lays the pair down. Plays continue. This player then presents his or her cards face down to the player to his or her left, and the play continues this way. Once a player gets rid of all their cards, they’re out and free.
Ending the Game
The last player left with the single queen loses. They deal the next game.
There you have it! How easy and fun is this game?!

Play on, players!
