My dear friend Lauren is getting married in September, and her sister and I are throwing a shower for her in my apartment next month. I’m hoping the weather will be nice enough to have the shower in the back yard. After the shower, we’ll all be heading up to wine country for a few days for Lauren’s bachelorette.
For the invites, I wanted something that really represented Lauren’s simple and elegant style, and I wanted to incorporate a few special touches (I couldn’t help myself). The invite included 1 large invite card for the shower, a small card with the bachelorette details in a glassine envelope sealed with a wax heart. I tied the two invites together with blue baker’s twine.
I hand-lettered Lauren’s name in black, scanned it at the highest resolution I could, and then I turned her name blue in Photoshop Elements. I used the serif font from Lauren’s Save the Dates for the “Let’s Celebrate” text and the shower details.
I kept the bachelorette invite card as simple as I could. Even though I spent a lot of care and time on these invites, of course I put the wrong month on the bachelorette invite card. 🙂 It’s the care that counts, right?
This was such a fun project. I loved working on these and pouring all my love and excitement for Lauren and her upcoming nuptials into these invites. I can’t wait to celebrate Lauren.
