I had one of the best weekends I can remember. Along with Lauren’s mom, sister, cousins, and closest gals, we celebrated her upcoming nuptials here in SF with a sparkly shower in my backyard before heading to Calistoga to say goodbye to some of her last single days.
I’m not exaggerating when I say that in many ways the weekend was just too good to be true. Thanks to some great recs from friends (and the hubs) we stayed at the perfect place, had the perfect meals, and enjoyed the best Napa and Calistoga have to offer.
As I think I’ve mentioned before, I’m due 4 days before Lauren’s wedding, so I unfortunately won’t be able to stand by her side on her big day, which makes me tear up a bit every time I think about it. I think in some ways I’m still in denial! Surely I can be in both places at once, right? This weekend meant a lot to me because I wanted to honor Lauren’s upcoming marriage and shower her with enough love that it will still be there with her on her big day even though I can’t be.
It was a weekend for the books.
