So, I know what you’re probably thinking: Meredith, you took like a million newborn pictures. Yes, this is true. But I didn’t take any of us as a new family of three, and I hardly have any photos of Bea and I (moms always seem to end up behind the camera I’m learning). That’s where Beth came in. When Bea was about two weeks old, my favorite photographer Beth Hurley who took my head shots, our pregnancy announcement, and my maternity shoot came over to take some shots of our little bean with us as a family.
I’m sure these photos look exactly the same, and I try not to post multiple versions of the same picture. But I love them all so much. Viet’s face in the last photo melts me.
It is absolutely shocking to me how little she was in these photos. It’s only been two months since these were taken, but she’s seems HUGE now in comparison.
I have to admit that when Beth showed up I felt a little nuts for scheduling a newborn shoot so soon. I thought how the heck did I think I could pull this off two weeks after giving birth. I was tired and Bea spent a lot of time nursing during the shoot, but I am so glad I did it now. These pictures of the two of us from those early days feel priceless to me now. I am (of course) getting teary just looking at them.
I’m trying to remember the feel of her in my arms when she was that little. She’s almost double the size of that now! It’s hard to put into words how much love swells in my heart looking at these pictures. I am so glad we’ll always have these precious photos of the two of us and three of us at the beginning.
