A week ago today we went to your six month check up (we like to take family selfies now at your check-ups). You’re healthy and thriving, you’ve jumped up from the 40th percentile to 54% in height and weight! You weight 6 pounds, 5 ounces and you’re 26 inches long.
You’re starting to sit up like a champ, and you’re just generally happy and chill most of the time. My favorite moments each day are when I’m kissing your sweet cheeks and snuggling you close.
I keep wondering when it will be time to stop these weekly letters (and move to more every few weeks or monthly). Much like nursing, I’ve kept at writing you much longer than I thought I would because it’s really just as much a comfort to me as it is or will be for you.
I know these letters aren’t always as detailed as they were in the beginning. We’re getting used to one another more, and it’s not that I have less to say (I may be a lot more tired-you were a much better sleeper in the beginning ;), it’s just that things are just happily moving forward. You’re growing. You’re happy. We’re happy. Every we day we just stare at you and grin like crazy fools. We’re so lucky to be your parents. You really are our beanshine.
With you in our lives it’s like light has been turned on that we didn’t even know we needed. We didn’t even realize we were in the dark.
and then you arrived. . . and the world got so, so bright.
You are so loved, my Beanshine, always,
