It is a wonderful and wondrous to be your mom. You are learning so much every day, and I love seeing the world through your eyes.
+you tried plums for the first time.
+you went to your first carnaval!
+we decided you are officially a stomach sleeper.
+you laughed. a lot.
You’re still teething pretty actively (chewing and drooling on everything in sight), and you’re also waking up more often than usual at night.
Weeks like this, I am so grateful for being able to experience all the little moments with you day in and day out. You’re a smiley, joyful baby.
It’s not just the firsts that are so exciting. It’s watching the joy you have when you recognize things, when you learn and begin to understand things, as you’re little mind and body are literally developing by leaps and bounds right in front of us.
I’m anxious for the years to come sometimes because this part (the keeping you alive, and fed, and growing phase) isn’t that hard after all, and I’m not sure I know how to do the next steps (teaching you how best to move within this crazy world). But your dad and I will do our best. 🙂
In the meantime, I just try to be really present every day and really grateful for every kiss on your chubby cheeks, every smile when I walk through the door in the evenings, every bouncy kneed laugh, every chattering talking session, and every sweet look of recognition.
You are so loved, my Beanshine, always,
