Today you’ve been in the world 40 weeks. You’ve officially been on the outside of me longer than you were on the inside, and it’s giving me pause. We’ve been together, you and I, for eighteen months, and we’ve both learned so much and changed so much along the way.
You’re picking up on things so quickly, Bean. It’s miraculous to watch. You’re standing and taking steps. You’re feeding yourself. You’re talking to strangers and dancing like nobody’s watching.
Exploring is your favorite thing at nine months.
You’ve got the most magnificent smile, little one. It a room lighter and a heart melter.
You like eggs and green beans (you still love chicken). You love pureed bananas, but you haven’t gotten the hang of normal bananas. You literally spit them out.
You’re a waving machine. Also, you love singing. It’s the sweetest sound ever.
Peekaboo cracks you up.
This weekend is your first father’s day, Bean. Don’t worry. I know you can’t tell Papa how much you love him yet, but I’ve got you covered. We’re going to hug him and celebrate him and be grateful for how wonderful he is. You hit the papa jackpot, Beanie.
You are so loved, my Beanshine, always,
