A few little things I want to remember from this week:
You’ve had a little growth spurt this week. Your cheeks and your belly are starting to fill out.
You’re beginning to track faces.
You’ve lost the hair on the top of your head, so I’ve been calling you friar Ace.
This week I’ve felt so grateful for you. You bring us so much joy every day. We’re completely in love.
Your dad and I were feeling so filled with love and gratitude that we tried to have our very own thanksgiving in July complete with turkey and the whole nine, but apparently it’s not that easy to find whole turkeys on demand in July. :/
I know you’re still so little and changing daily, but it just seems like you are such a perfect fit for our family. I’ve been grateful from day one for how easy you’ve made it for me this time around with your quiet, calm spirit.
You go with the flow. You don’t mind me jostling you about from place to place. You don’t love your carseat and sometimes get pretty upset when we’re stopped at a red light or stuck in traffic, but you usually calm down once we start moving again or at the sound of my voice. One of the things I love most about you is that even when you do get upset you don’t stay that way for long.
I’m so excited that you and your sister will have each other. Who knows what your relationship will be like, but I hope that you will always be able to count on one another and that you will be the best of friends. I’m so grateful for each of my brothers, and I hope you and your sister can always turn to one another.
