An actress, a writer, or an FBI agent/ninja
The vast majority of photos featured on Not Merely Living are my own personal pictures taken on my phone or camera. I haven't ever taken any formal photography training, but I really like to take pictures. You are welcome to use my photographs, but please list Not Merely Living and myself (Meredith Nguyen) as the source. Any time I post any photos or images on the blog that were not taken/created by me, I do my best to cite back to the original source and photographer. If you notice that I have cited an incorrect source, please let me know so that I can update the source immediately.
I shoot with a Canon EOS Rebel T3i. We have a few different lenses, but the one that I use the vast majority of the time is this simple 50 mm.
My site is hosted on typepad, and I did all my own site design. This was truly a labor of love for me, because I have no formal training or graphic design background. I use Photoshop Elements 11 to edit all of my photos and to create all of my own graphics like the buttons you see on the right and the navbar up top.
I learned how to create the custom coded needed to design my own site by taking Elise Blaha's Blog Design class, and I highly recommend it if you use typepad and want to create your own blog design.
I work full-time in development for a large anti-hunger non-profit organization in San Francisco. Even though I don't write too much about it on the blog, I absolutely love my job. I am very grateful that I get the chance to do what I love for an organization that I truly believe in.
